The dogwood tree was used to make the cross (for the crucifixion of Christ). Every Resurrection Day it blooms, no matter if it's just blossoming up to Good Friday! When Resurrection Sunday comes it blooms big, beautiful flowers. Since this dogwood tree is right in our front yard (Herbal Tea House) in Jersey City, instead of calling it dogwood, I will call it "Resurrection Tree" because no matter how down or depressed you may feel, when you see these beautiful pink flowers, and you know the story behind this tree, you will feel resurrected.
